Quality Control Plan Generator — MCP server for Claude Code
This MCP server turns technical-drawing PDFs into inspection plans, marked-up drawings, and Excel or PDF reports. Use it for first-article and production checks.
claude mcp add --env QCP_APP_URL=<QCP_APP_URL> --transport stdio quality-control-plan-generator -- npx -y quality-control-plan-mcpWhat Quality Control Plan Generator does
The server sends a vector or scanned drawing PDF to analyze_drawing, which returns detected dimensions, tolerances, fits, threads, GD&T features, and surface finishes. Each result includes its type, value, page, position, confidence, and printed balloon number. Input files can be up to 30 MB.
build_quality_plan then assigns acceptance limits, balloon numbering, inspection classes, and a measuring instrument for each selected feature. Use export_quality_plan_excel for the measurement report or export_inspection_pdf for a ballooned drawing and inspection package; the source PDF stays unchanged. Only drawing analysis is sent to Imnoo’s service, while plan creation and exports run locally. Node.js ≥ 18 is required, so an older runtime will block installation.
What it helps with
- extract tolerances from a drawing PDF
- build a first-article inspection plan
- mark drawing features with balloon numbers
- derive acceptance ranges from nominal values and tolerances
- export measurement reports to Excel and PDF
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Q1 inspection plan from
flange.pdfand export the Excel and PDF reports. - Read the drawing PDF, retain its printed balloon numbers, and assign a measuring instrument to each feature.
- Renumber the selected features with the
D001style and produce a ballooned drawing.
