mcp-server · ptpge — Claude Code MCP server: setup
This read-only MCP server gives agents a print vocabulary plus configuration checks. It fits workflows that need structured product and colour data.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-server https://mcp.ptpge.org/mcpWhat mcp-server does
mcp-server exposes the PTPGE print vocabulary to an AI agent. Its tools search and inspect terms, browse the hierarchy, read product-envelope requirements, and validate configurations against allowed values, cardinality, numeric ranges, and cross-variable rules.
The server also converts notation such as 4/4 into ink counts, resolves a validated configuration into a ptpge-cfs/1 fingerprint, and expands a fingerprint back into configuration data. It caches the dataset in memory and refreshes it when the dataset version changes. The public endpoint needs no key, so a basic connection does not require auth setup.
Use Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.ptpge.org/mcp, or run the service locally with Python and requirements.txt. The local setup exposes POST /mcp; its endpoint can be checked with http://localhost:8000/mcp. Runtime options cover dataset refresh, logging, and optional access controls.
What it helps with
- search a print term in the vocabulary
- validate a product configuration
- turn
4/4into ink counts - generate a configuration fingerprint
Example prompts for the agent
- Look up
roll foldand explain its related terms. - Validate this brochure configuration against the applicable product envelope.
- Create a
ptpge-cfs/1fingerprint from the validated print configuration.
