pointsyeah — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Search award flights and travel deals using airline miles via PointsYeah. Compare bank transfer choices directly through your coding assistant.
claude mcp add --env POINTSYEAH_REFRESH_TOKEN=<POINTSYEAH_REFRESH_TOKEN> --env ENABLED_TOOLGROUPS=<ENABLED_TOOLGROUPS> --transport stdio pointsyeah -- npx -y pointsyeah-mcp-serverWhat pointsyeah does
This MCP server connects your coding agent to PointsYeah to check seat availability across 20+ frequent flyer programs. It checks reward point transfers from financial providers like Chase and Amex. Flight lookup runs in two steps: an HTTP POST call queries the Explorer API for initial route summaries, followed by up to 10 detail requests via CloudFront for complete itinerary segments.
You need Node.js 18+ and a PointsYeah account. The server relies on an AWS Cognito refresh token, which you can set in POINTSYEAH_REFRESH_TOKEN or provide via set_refresh_token. Because this token expires every 30 to 90 days, you will have to extract it from browser cookies again when calls fail.
What it helps with
- search award seat availability across 20+ airline programs
- compare reward point transfer options from Chase or Amex
- check past flight search queries
Example prompts for the agent
- Find business class award flights from JFK to LHR on October 15.
- Compare transfer options from Amex points for travel to Tokyo.
- Show my previous flight search history.
