What Perigon does

Perigon is a hosted MCP server for Perigon’s news API. It gives an agent access to articles, stories, companies, journalists, monitors, and news statistics. Tool selection can be narrowed through the MCP URL.

The server uses Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.perigon.io/v1/mcp. In Claude Code, add the endpoint and authenticate from /mcp. OAuth requires a verified Perigon user with the User role in an organization; an API key can be used instead through the Authorization: Bearer header.

What it helps with

  • search current news articles
  • group coverage into related stories
  • look up companies and journalists
  • inspect news statistics
  • connect monitors to an MCP client

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find recent articles about a product launch and group them into stories.
  • Research this company and list journalists connected to its coverage.
  • Show the statistics for this news story and explain the main signals.
