What OpsLevel does

This MCP server runs entirely as a remote service at https://app.opslevel.com/mcp. You do not need to compile code or run background processes locally. First-time setup uses OAuth to link your client with an OpsLevel account.

AI tools get read-only access to portal data. The server exposes software components, git repositories, linked cloud resources, and runbooks. Because access is strictly read-only, assistants cannot modify service catalogs or trigger campaign changes.

What it helps with

  • look up service owners and team contact channels
  • inspect upstream and downstream component dependencies
  • fetch runbooks and tech docs attached to a component
  • review service maturity checks and campaign status

Example prompts for the agent

  • Which team owns the auth-service component in OpsLevel?
  • List all components that depend on billing-db
  • Show the runbook and maturity checklist for payment-gateway
