Omnicord — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Controls Discord servers via local bot automation: manages moderation, drafts channel layouts, and runs administrative checks.
claude mcp add --env DISCORD_TOKEN=<DISCORD_TOKEN> --env OMNICORD_GUILD=<OMNICORD_GUILD> --transport stdio omnicord -- npx -y @orygn/omnicordWhat omnicord does
Omnicord connects your development client to the Discord API using your own bot token over stdio or HTTP transports. The tool gives your assistant capacity to post updates, query chat history, and build server hierarchies from text outlines. There is no background cloud backend or separate LLM: the host model decides the plan, while Omnicord queues API calls and handles rate limits.
Destructive changes like kicking members, banning, or pruning channels require explicit verification. Omnicord halts dangerous commands by returning an action summary along with a single-use token valid for two minutes. A second request with that exact token is mandatory to execute the modification.
Running the package requires Node 20 or newer and a configured Discord bot token. Exposing the HTTP listener beyond loopback fails immediately unless you specify an authorization secret in OMNICORD_HTTP_TOKEN.
What it helps with
- Provision channels, categories, and permission overwrites from a short brief
- Moderate communities using timeouts, kicks, and preview-gated bans
- Configure AutoMod rules to restrict spam and unwanted keywords
- Inspect server audit logs and message history
Example prompts for the agent
- Run a setup check on my Discord bot
- Draft a category structure with text and voice channels for our engineering group

Questions about omnicord
How to install Omnicord in Claude Code?
Execute claude mcp add omnicord -e DISCORD_TOKEN=<DISCORD_TOKEN> -- npx -y @orygn/omnicord. You can also configure the target server using --env OMNICORD_GUILD=<OMNICORD_GUILD>.
How does the safety mechanism protect against accidents?
Harmful operations pause before execution to provide a readable preview alongside a disposable token. The server discards the pending action if you do not confirm it within two minutes.
What prerequisites are needed to run Omnicord?
You need Node.js 20 or newer, a Discord developer account, and an active bot token saved in DISCORD_TOKEN.
