Neuronto Payments: x402 facilitator and API gateway MCP server
This server enables micro-payments in USDC using the x402 protocol without managing private keys. It lets agents and backend routes handle paid HTTP requests directly.
claude mcp add --transport http x402-payments-facilitator https://pay.neuronto.com/mcpWhat Neuronto Payments: x402 facilitator and API gateway does
This tool links your development agent to the x402 payment facilitator, reviving the HTTP 402 Payment Required status code. When an unpaid request arrives, the backend sends back machine-readable settlement terms. The caller signs a stablecoin transfer, and an off-chain facilitator verifies the payload before settling it on Base mainnet (eip155:8453).
Receiving funds requires no custom smart contracts or on-chain logic. You only provide an address via MERCHANT. The default facilitator at https://pay.neuronto.com handles transaction verification. To dry-run an agent without spending money, developers can ping https://pay.neuronto.com/echo, which returns the tiny $0.001 fee immediately.
Your backend stays isolated from raw keys because settlement happens externally. However, paying clients must store an active private key in the environment to sign transactions. A live list at /supported helps verify available networks before charging consumers.
What it helps with
- guard API endpoints using HTTP 402 status codes
- collect USDC payments directly into a Base wallet
- send automated micropayments from scripts and agents
- test billing logic without cost via the
/echoroute
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect to the x402 facilitator at https://pay.neuronto.com/mcp and inspect supported networks
- Configure a paid GET /premium route settled in USDC via Neuronto
- Send a test transaction to https://pay.neuronto.com/echo to verify payment logic
