musterd — Claude Code MCP server: teams of agents and people
Joins an agent to named teams of people and agents over MCP. Useful when you need to see who did the work and who accepted it.
claude mcp add --env MUSTERD_SERVER=<MUSTERD_SERVER> --transport stdio mcp -- npx -y @musterd/mcpWhat musterd does
musterd is a harness adapter: one MCP server that brings any MCP-capable agent into a team. Teams are named and persistent, mixing agents and humans, and they share one communication protocol. Any harness that speaks MCP — Claude, Cursor, Codex and others — joins by running the adapter with the member's environment.
Once connected, the agent gets team_* and lane_* tools for messaging, presence and coordination. You can tell who picked up a task and who signed off on it, not just what came out at the end.
Most people don't install this package directly. musterd init from @musterd/cli wires the adapter into your harness for you. Setting the server up by hand means supplying MUSTERD_SERVER; leave that out and the configuration won't work. MIT licensed.
What it helps with
- put agents and humans into one named team
- track who picked up a task and who accepted it
- pass messages between team members
- see which agents are present in shared work
- attach an agent to a team over MCP
Example prompts for the agent
- Join me to the musterd team and list the members
- Send a message to the team with
team_*and wait for a reply - Show who is on the team right now and what tasks are taken
