mendapi — Claude Code MCP server: API change detection

What mendapi does

The MCP server connects API change data to a scan of your repository. It identifies providers through SDK imports, API hosts and environment variables, then reports affected files, lines and symbols. Findings receive confidence scores. An optional LLM review can examine pending results with medium confidence.

For migrations, mendapi applies rule packs and produces a diff for review. It leaves files untouched unless you pass --apply. The scanner, fixer and review tools run locally and do not send source code over the network. Node.js 22.13 or newer is required. The sync command fetches the change feed, so that is the step that needs network access.

What it helps with

  • find breaking API changes that affect a repository
  • locate files and symbols touched by a provider change
  • review medium-confidence findings with an LLM
  • draft an SDK migration diff for inspection

Example prompts for the agent

  • Scan this repository for breaking API changes and show the affected lines.
  • Review the medium-confidence findings in impact.json with an LLM pass.
  • Draft a migration diff from impact.json without applying the changes.
