MCP Server for Binge-watch — Claude Code MCP server setup
Finds media streaming links for shows and sends playback commands directly to Xiaomi TVs or Android devices running TvBox.
claude mcp add --env TRANSPORT=<TRANSPORT> --transport stdio mcp-server-for-binge-watch -- uvx mcp-vodsWhat MCP Server for Binge-watch does
This server gives AI assistants tools to search media streams using MoonTV and LunaTV catalogs. It queries remote sources, retrieves playable addresses, and relays playback commands to screens on your home network.
You can run the package using uvx mcp-vods or deploy it in a Docker container on port 8821. It queries up to 10 source sites per request and keeps query results in cache for 5 minutes. Custom stream configurations can be attached with the VOD_CONFIG_URL environment variable.
Remote playback depends entirely on your local network layout. Xiaomi screens need an IP address set via MITV_LOCAL_IP or MITV_LIST_CFG. Other Android devices must have the TvBox app installed, otherwise streaming commands fail.
What it helps with
- locate working stream URLs for shows and movies
- cast video streams directly to Xiaomi smart TVs
- send streaming links to Android boxes running TvBox
- connect private LunaTV or MoonTV servers to coding assistants
Example prompts for the agent
- Find streaming links for the latest anime episode and play it on the living room TV.
- Search for available video sources for this movie using MoonTV.
- Send the selected stream URL to the TvBox player at 192.168.1.11.
