MCP Dubai — Claude Code MCP server: data and setup
Connects an AI client to Dubai and UAE public data plus business setup reference tools. Useful for questions about local weather, exchange rates, schools, and business procedures.
claude mcp add --env MCP_DUBAI_PULSE_CLIENT_ID=<MCP_DUBAI_PULSE_CLIENT_ID> --env MCP_DUBAI_PULSE_CLIENT_SECRET=<MCP_DUBAI_PULSE_CLIENT_SECRET> --env MCP_DUBAI_WAQI_TOKEN=<MCP_DUBAI_WAQI_TOKEN> --env MCP_DUBAI_LOG_LEVEL=<MCP_DUBAI_LOG_LEVEL> --transport stdio mcp-dubai -- uvx mcp-dubaiWhat MCP Dubai does
MCP Dubai gives an MCP client tools that query public APIs, bundled datasets, and curated guidance on setting up a business in the UAE. The catalogue covers weather, currency conversion, holidays, schools, real estate, and transport. It also includes Arabic and English letter templates and tools for building reports.
The server runs locally over stdio. Of its 120 tools, 112 work without credentials; air-quality readings need a free WAQI token, while government dataset queries require OAuth credentials and dataset access. The package can be launched with uvx mcp-dubai.
School search uses a sample of 16 schools, so it is not a full directory. Some upstream services can be unavailable, and DFM data may be delayed or incomplete.
What it helps with
- find Dubai schools by area and curriculum
- get a UAE city weather forecast
- convert a currency using AED rates
- check UAE federal holiday dates
Example prompts for the agent
- Find schools in Al Barsha and filter them by curriculum.
- Show me the weather forecast for Abu Dhabi.
- Convert 500 AED to EUR using the current rate.
