Life Dashboard — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
This MCP server reads health and screen-time history from a Life Dashboard Postgres database. Ask an AI client questions about your own records.
claude mcp add --env MCP_TRANSPORT=<MCP_TRANSPORT> --env PGHOST=<PGHOST> --env PGDATABASE=<PGDATABASE> --env PGUSER=<PGUSER> --env PGPASSWORD=<PGPASSWORD> --transport stdio mcp -- docker run -i --rm -e MCP_TRANSPORT -e PGHOST -e PGDATABASE -e PGUSER -e PGPASSWORD ghcr.io/owen282000/life-dashboard-mcp:1.2.0What Life Dashboard does
The server connects an MCP client to Life Dashboard data in Postgres. Its eight read-only tools let an AI answer questions about health records and app screen time. You could compare sleep patterns with activity over a chosen period.
Companion apps send data from Android or iPhone to the database; Grafana is also part of the stack for viewing that history. The MCP server is optional and stays off until you provide a token. Setup requires MCP transport and Postgres connection values, including a password. Without access to the database, the server cannot answer questions about its records.
What it helps with
- ask an AI about past health measurements
- compare sleep and activity across periods
- inspect screen-time history by app
Example prompts for the agent
- Compare my sleep during weeks when I walked more.
- Which apps took up the most screen time?
- How have my health records changed over the last period?

Questions about Life Dashboard
How do I install Life Dashboard in Claude Code?
Replace the placeholders with your values, then run: `claude mcp add --env MCP_TRANSPORT=<MCP_TRANSPORT> --env PGHOST=<PGHOST> --env PGDATABASE=<PGDATABASE> --env PGUSER=<PGUSER> --env PGPASSWORD=<PGPASSWORD> --transport stdio mcp -- docker run -i --rm -e MCP_TRANSPORT -e PGHOST -e PGDATABASE -e PGUSER -e PGPASSWORD ghcr.io/owen282000/life-dashboard-mcp:1.2.0`.
What does Life Dashboard do?
It gives an MCP client read-only access to health and screen-time history stored in Life Dashboard's Postgres database. An AI can answer questions using those records.
What do I need to connect the MCP server?
Provide MCP transport settings and Postgres connection values: MCP_TRANSPORT, PGHOST, PGDATABASE, PGUSER, and PGPASSWORD. The server reads from the Life Dashboard database.
