mcp-bitso — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect an AI agent to Bitso to inspect market data, manage orders, and check account balances. API credentials are required.
claude mcp add mcp-bitso -e BITSO_API_KEY=<BITSO_API_KEY> -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-bitsoWhat mcp-bitso does
mcp-bitso gives an agent tools for Bitso, including market prices and order books, order creation and cancellation, trade records, and account balances. It can also retrieve funding and withdrawal details, fees, and account verification status.
The server provides 20 tools. Bitso requests use HMAC-SHA256 signatures, so configure both BITSO_API_KEY and BITSO_API_SECRET. Authentication will fail without the required credentials. Bitso’s developer account provides access to a sandbox for testing.
For Claude Code, add the server with claude mcp add. The install command shown here passes the API key only; configure the secret separately. Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini CLI are also supported.
What it helps with
- inspect a Bitso trading pair’s price and order book
- place or cancel a Bitso order
- check account balances and executed trades
- review funding options and applicable fees
- retrieve verification status and account limits
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the current Bitso price and order book for this trading pair.
- Show my account balances and recent executed trades.
- Cancel all my open Bitso orders.
