What Magg does

Magg acts as an aggregator and proxy layer for other MCP servers. Instead of declaring every utility in static configuration files, the model discovers and attaches required external tools at runtime through this intermediate service.

The project is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and runs directly via uvx magg. Running the server requires uv installed in the local environment, or the startup command will fail immediately.

What it helps with

  • proxy multiple MCP servers through one endpoint
  • discover and register external tools while the model is executing
  • manage agent tools without altering static configuration files manually

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find and connect an MCP server for database operations
  • Show all tools currently available through the Magg proxy
