Lovie Company Formation — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect Claude Code to Lovie tools for company formation and business finance. Use them to handle accounts, cards, invoices and transactions from an MCP-compatible coding tool.
claude mcp add --transport http company-formation https://mcp.lovie.co/mcp/mcpWhat Lovie Company Formation does
Lovie exposes tools for starting a company filing, choosing an entity type and state, checking a name, adding shareholders, and paying the filing fee. It can also create and manage bank accounts and cards, move funds, and handle client records. For invoicing, the tools can create or send invoices and produce PDFs; transaction tools can filter records and assign categories.
The lovie package acts as a local link between an MCP client and Lovie’s remote service. It sends tool requests over HTTPS and returns results through stdio. You need Node.js 18+ and a Lovie account. Install the package with npm install -g lovie, then authenticate with lovie login; without a Lovie account, that sign-in step cannot be completed.
In Claude Code, you can connect to the hosted MCP endpoint or run the package through npx. The Lovie service handles the business operations, while the package forwards requests. Available tools also cover external bank connections through Plaid, session management and profile updates.
What it helps with
- start a company filing and check whether a name is available
- create an account and retrieve its balance
- issue a card and set a spending limit
- create an invoice and generate its PDF
- filter transactions and connect an external bank account
Example prompts for the agent
- Start a company filing, select the state and check whether this name is available.
- Create an invoice for this client and generate a PDF.
- List transactions for the account and group them by category.
