LiveReacting — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Manages live video streams and playlists directly through LiveReacting. Useful for automating broadcasts and switching scenes from your coding assistant.
claude mcp add --transport http livereacting https://mcp.livereacting.com/mcpWhat LiveReacting does
This server connects AI assistants to the LiveReacting video engine via remote HTTP at https://mcp.livereacting.com/mcp. Tools prefixed with livereacting_ handle broadcast destinations, scene layouts, and live transmission controls across channels like YouTube, Twitch, or RTMP endpoints.
The model can build scenes containing video playlists, change layers dynamically, and switch active views while a stream is ongoing. It also schedules future broadcasts and pushes editor adjustments to running streams.
Free accounts fail with a 403 API_ACCESS_REQUIRES_PAID_PLAN error: an active paid subscription is required to generate working API keys. The token begins with lr_. Store it in the LIVEREACTING_API_KEY environment variable.
What it helps with
- schedule pre-recorded video broadcasts to YouTube or Twitch
- switch the active scene during an ongoing live stream
- validate destination connections and RTMP endpoints
- build video playlists and attach layers inside projects
Example prompts for the agent
- Check my connected LiveReacting streaming destinations and their status
- Create a scene with a video playlist and schedule the broadcast
- Switch the active scene in the running stream
