Lightbringer — Claude Code MCP server for patent workflows
A hosted MCP server that connects the Lightbringer patent service to your AI assistant. Register innovations, request patent prep, and work with the patent team without leaving your editor.
claude mcp add --transport http connector https://mcp.lightbringer.com/mcpWhat Lightbringer does
Lightbringer brings patent work into your coding session. You capture ideas where you build, search for records that already exist, register new innovations without duplicating them, and enrich descriptions over time. The service runs as a remote server, so there is no code to install from the repository.\n\nThe endpoint is https://mcp.lightbringer.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1. You need a Lightbringer subscription, free or paid, and you pick an organisation during sign-in. Access follows your existing permissions in that organisation.\n\nTools cover reading the shared company brief, browsing accessible innovations and patents, building an IP strategy, starting automated feedback on a description, and requesting patent preparation. Skills like innovation-capture and patent-review walk the assistant through these workflows but add no permissions. Automated feedback checks the description itself, not novelty or patentability. Registration alone does not start the patent prep workflow — you have to ask for it explicitly.\n\nOne catch: agents cannot make payments, so attorney work, filing, and prosecution happen through separate paid engagements outside MCP.

Questions about Lightbringer
How do I install Lightbringer in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http connector https://mcp.lightbringer.com/mcp or claude mcp add --transport http lightbringer https://mcp.lightbringer.com/mcp. Then finish the OAuth 2.1 sign-in and choose the Lightbringer organisation.
What does Lightbringer do?
It connects the Lightbringer patent service to your AI assistant through MCP. You can register innovations, request patent preparation, maintain an IP strategy, and collaborate with the patent team — read reviews, post comments, and answer discussions.
Does automated feedback replace a novelty search?
No. The automated feedback checks the description itself, not novelty or patentability. Novelty searches and FTO assessments are professional work done by patent attorneys through separate engagements.
