LaborIQ Salary Data — Claude Code MCP server: US pay data
Pulls median US pay for a job title and location into your agent chat. Handy when you need a quick salary range for a posting or an offer.
claude mcp add --transport http laboriq-salary-data https://mcp.laboriq.co/mcpWhat LaborIQ Salary Data does
There is one tool here: get_salary_data. Hand it a job title plus a US city or state and it answers with the median salary. Pro-tier keys open up more, including salary forecasts.
LaborIQ hosts the server itself; the repository holds documentation only. It speaks Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.laboriq.co/mcp and authenticates with an x-api-key header. If your client cannot reach a remote HTTP server on its own, route it through npx with mcp-remote@latest.
No key, no data. Free keys come from an email request at https://laboriq.co/mcp; Pro keys are issued in the LaborIQ portal. Drop your key into the config where <your-key> sits — leave the placeholder in place and every call fails.
What it helps with
- size up a pay range for a US job posting
- check a candidate's offer against the local median
- read salary forecasts for a role with a Pro key
- compare pay across several states at once
Example prompts for the agent
- What's the median salary for a backend developer in Austin, Texas?
- Show me salary forecasts for a product manager in Seattle
- Compare median pay for data engineers in New York and Denver
