What Kourier does

Nothing runs on your machine. You point the client at the remote Streamable HTTP endpoint and get eight tools. Four return information: monthly plan prices and concurrency caps, the served model's API identifier along with context and output limits, dashboard sign-in and OAuth steps for obtaining a key, and per-client configuration guidance. Three handle subscription onboarding: one generates a checkout link, one reports approval status, one trades a ready onboarding for a dedicated inference key. The eighth, submit_feedback, files a note or bug report.

Information and onboarding tools need no credentials. submit_feedback is the exception: it wants a Kourier key in the connection's Authorization: Bearer header, and passing a key as a tool argument is refused. Recurring billing and agent access both wait for a person to approve in the browser. Generating the checkout link charges nothing and issues no key. Onboarding tokens stay private; poll status every five seconds and stop once it reads issued, denied or expired. After the key appears, store it and don't ask again.

Connecting this server leaves your editor's own model untouched. Ask for setup instructions separately and copy the values across yourself. Keep tokens and keys out of repositories, logs and report text. A Kourier request ID helps with error investigation; private code does not.

What it helps with

  • compare monthly plan prices and concurrency caps before subscribing
  • confirm the exact model identifier and its context window
  • run checkout for a subscription with human approval in the browser
  • obtain a dedicated inference key once onboarding clears
  • file an error report tied to the right account

Example prompts for the agent

  • What plans does Kourier offer, and how do I set it up for claude-code?
  • Call get_setup_instructions with harness set to openai-compatible
  • Start a checkout link for the Pro plan, client cursor

Questions about Kourier

How do I install Kourier in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http kourier https://kourier.sh/mcp. The server is hosted, so there is no local process to start.

What does Kourier do?

It serves reference material on Kourier's plans and model limits, gives client setup steps, guides a subscription through browser approval, and accepts feedback. Model inference itself goes through a separate API with a subscription key.

Does Kourier need an API key to connect?

Only for submit_feedback, and only in the connection's Authorization: Bearer header. Information and onboarding tools work without one.
