Jinero — MCP server for Claude Code: features and setup
Jinero gives coding agents remote tools for font discovery, color analysis, and code transformations. Use it while building interfaces or preparing CSS and SVG assets.
claude mcp add --transport http jinero https://jinero.online/mcpWhat Jinero does
Jinero exposes 22 remote tools through the Model Context Protocol. Agents can search font families by properties, identify typefaces from images, retrieve font metadata and files, and generate CSS declarations. Color tools cover WCAG contrast calculations, shade generation, color naming, and palette extraction from images.
The server also handles code minification and conversion, language detection, SVG optimization, and SCSS helpers. Its tools are read-only: submitted code is treated as text rather than executed, and it is not stored. Images are processed in memory and removed immediately afterward.
Connect over HTTP at https://jinero.online/mcp; no authentication is required. The endpoint allows 60 requests per minute per IP, with additional caps for expensive operations. Font recognition is limited to 5 requests per minute, while image color extraction allows 10. Requests beyond a tool's limit return an error with retry guidance, so frequent image analysis needs to account for those caps.
What it helps with
- Find typefaces by name, style, or language coverage
- Identify a font from a screenshot or text image
- Generate CSS declarations for a selected font family
- Measure WCAG contrast and extract colors from an image
- Minify source code and optimize SVG assets
Example prompts for the agent
- Find fonts that support Cyrillic for this interface and prepare CSS for the best match.
- Identify the typeface in this screenshot and return visually similar font families.
- Check these interface colors against WCAG contrast requirements and optimize the SVG assets.
