Industrial-AIOps — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
This MCP server reads industrial equipment data across field protocols and helps an agent trace downtime to cited evidence. Its analysis runs without a model API.
claude mcp add --env IAIOPS_MCP=<IAIOPS_MCP> --env IAIOPS_CONFIG=<IAIOPS_CONFIG> --env IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD=<IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD> --env IAIOPS_NO_EGRESS=<IAIOPS_NO_EGRESS> --transport stdio industrial-aiops -- uvx iaiopsWhat Industrial-AIOps does
Industrial-AIOps connects to equipment through 15 field protocols and correlates the readings. An agent can ask it to investigate a line stoppage and cite the supporting evidence, or examine alarm floods, data flows and OEE. The server is designed around reads: calls are audited, while write operations are off by default and governed through MOC controls.
The analysis engine is deterministic and needs neither a GPU nor a model API. An optional model can rephrase a verdict after the engine has produced it. To add the server in Claude Code, use uvx iaiops through the command below and set IAIOPS_MCP and IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD. Six tools can send data outside the machine; set IAIOPS_NO_EGRESS=1 for an air-gapped setup.
What it helps with
- trace equipment downtime to its cause
- investigate a flood of alarms
- check whether device data can be trusted
- measure OEE from collected history
- explain PLC programs in ST, AWL or L5X
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the cause of the line stoppage and cite the readings behind your conclusion.
- Investigate what triggered this alarm flood.
- Calculate OEE from the collected history for the requested period.
How to install Industrial-AIOps
Platform CLI
claude mcp add --env IAIOPS_MCP=<IAIOPS_MCP> --env IAIOPS_CONFIG=<IAIOPS_CONFIG> --env IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD=<IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD> --env IAIOPS_NO_EGRESS=<IAIOPS_NO_EGRESS> --transport stdio industrial-aiops -- uvx iaiopsReplace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from iaiops <command>
Platform CLI

Questions about Industrial-AIOps
How do I install Industrial-AIOps in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add iaiops -e IAIOPS_MCP=<IAIOPS_MCP> -e IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD=<IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD> -- uvx iaiops. Set values for IAIOPS_MCP and IAIOPS_MASTER_PASSWORD before starting the server.
What does Industrial-AIOps do?
It reads industrial equipment data across field protocols, correlates readings and supports analysis of downtime, alarm floods and OEE. Calls are audited.
Does its analysis require a language model?
No. The analysis engine runs without a GPU or model API. An optional model can rephrase a result that the engine has already computed.
