What HKEx Filings does

The server speaks to the undocumented HKEx JSON API and returns filing metadata, full text, and tables extracted from PDFs. The public gateway at https://hkex-listco-updates.ascent-partners.com/api/mcp requires no setup or API key: four tools — search within a 31-day window with filters for stock code, document type, and category; list facets for a window; fetch a single filing with text and table extraction; and server info. The local variant (pip install hkex-filing-scraper) scrapes filings into PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, MongoDB, Neo4j, ClickHouse, DuckDB, MariaDB, or SurrealDB and runs a stdio server with a wider tool catalog.

MIT license, Python 3.10+. The stdio server needs uvx and the installed package; the gateway needs only a URL in the agent config. Listed in the official MCP Registry as com.ascent-partners/hkex-filings and published on Glama with a 4.7/5 tool-quality score.

What it helps with

  • fetch regulatory filings from Hong Kong Stock Exchange for any date range
  • extract text and tables from HKEx PDF reports for analysis
  • query HKEx filings from an AI agent without manual scraping
  • build a full-text corpus of HKEx filings in your own database

Example prompts for the agent

  • Connect the hosted hkex-filings gateway and search all filings from September 2026 for stock code 0700
  • Use hkex-filings to fetch Tencent's interim report and summarize key metrics
  • Scrape the latest 100 HKEx filings into SQLite with hkex-scraper --metadata-only --limit 100

Do I need an API key for HKEx Filings?
