apple-reminders — Claude Code MCP server: install
Connects Claude Code to Apple Reminders through EventKit for search, daily and overdue views, and reminder changes on macOS.
claude mcp add apple-reminders -- npx -y @high5ventures/apple-reminders-mcpWhat apple-reminders does
This MCP server connects Claude Code with the native Apple Reminders database through EventKit. It can list reminder lists, show open or completed items, search by text, find tasks due today or overdue, and create, edit, or complete individual reminders.
The package contains a signed Swift binary and 13 MCP tools. Data stays local because the server performs no network I/O. The same server can also be configured for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and other MCP clients with npx.
A Mac running macOS 11 or newer is required, along with macOS permission to access Reminders. Without that permission, the server cannot read or change your reminders.
What it helps with
- show reminders due today
- find overdue tasks
- add an item to a chosen list
- mark a selected reminder complete
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me my reminders for today.
- Find overdue items and complete the reminder about Slack.
