Google Workspace MCP Server exposes Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Tasks and Contacts to an agent. It packages 67 MCP tools and runs on top of the official gws CLI, giving the agent one interface for Google Workspace data.
You need Node.js 18+ plus an installed and authenticated gws CLI. Without those prerequisites, the server will not start. The project is in maintenance mode: security fixes continue, while new features are not planned.
It can be used with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed and Gemini CLI. Contacts tools need extra authorization for the people service through gws-mcp-server auth login -s people.
