Google Play Console MCP — Claude Code MCP server setup
Connects your coding assistant to the Google Play Console for build uploads, track rollouts, and Android Vitals tracking during deployments.
claude mcp add --env GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=<GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS> --transport stdio google-play-console-mcp -- uvx google-play-mcpWhat Google Play Console MCP does
This Python-based MCP server gives your assistant control over application releases through the Play Developer APIs. It handles bundle and APK uploads, sends builds to Internal App Sharing, and shifts versions from internal tracks into production. You can alter rollout percentages or pause an active release directly in chat.
The server also exposes health telemetry from Android Vitals. It fetches daily crash numbers, ANR metrics, background wake locks, and device wakeups tied to individual version codes.
Setup depends on uv and a service account key passed via GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS. Without bulk report view permissions granted at both the account and individual app tiers, Vitals queries fail immediately.
What it helps with
- publish an AAB build directly to an internal test track
- adjust rollout percentage or halt an ongoing production release
- inspect crash rates and ANR occurrences across app versions
- replace tester email lists on closed tracks
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the rollout progress for com.example.app on the production track
- Upload this build to Internal App Sharing and return the link
- Fetch the Android Vitals summary and crash rate for the latest release
