Google News & Trends MCP — Claude Code MCP server: install
Search Google News and inspect search-interest patterns with Google Trends. Useful for checking current coverage and comparing keyword momentum.
claude mcp add mcp-trendpulse -- uvx mcp-trendpulseWhat Google News & Trends MCP does
The server lets an agent find news by keyword, location, topic, or publisher domain, retrieve leading stories, and extract article text. Its Trends tools can track one or more terms over time, surface related queries and topics, and compare search properties such as YouTube, News, Images, and Google Shopping where the underlying provider supports them.
News tools can use Playwright when ordinary retrieval fails to extract an article. That route needs the Python playwright package and a separate Chromium install; installing the package alone does not add the browser. Trend-only work does not need Chromium. In Claude Code, start the server with uvx mcp-trendpulse; Python 3.11 or newer is recommended for the latest image-decoder security fixes.

- extract article text from a Google News link
