mcp-server · aganium — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects local MCP tools to the AGENIUM network using agent:// URIs. Useful when you need distributed tool discovery and cross-agent calls through DNS.
claude mcp add mcp-server -- npx -y @agenium/mcp-serverWhat mcp-server does
The @agenium/mcp-server package links the Model Context Protocol to the AGENIUM agent network. It assigns an agent:// address to servers running via stdio, sse, or streamable-http. Remote nodes can discover these tools through DNS and invoke them directly.
The bridge handles tool execution, resource reading, and prompt templates. A companion client discovers remote capabilities. It executes actions with a default 30-second timeout.
By default, registration targets the AGENIUM DNS host at 185.204.169.26:3000. You must supply a reachable address in publicHost for other machines to connect back. Without a reachable IP, peer nodes cannot route calls to your bridge.
What it helps with
- expose local MCP tools to peer nodes over agent:// URIs
- query and invoke remote agent capabilities via AGENIUM DNS
- bridge stdio, SSE, or streamable-http transports to a distributed network
- share prompts and resources across multi-agent setups
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect the agenium bridge to reach remote tools at agent://weather-tools
- Query the capabilities manifest for the remote agent agent://weather-tools
- Run the get_forecast tool on agent://weather-tools with city Tehran and 3 days

Questions about mcp-server
How do I install mcp-server in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add mcp-bridge -- npx -y @agenium/mcp-server in your terminal. This registers the bridge runner directly in Claude Code.
What does mcp-server do?
It acts as an adapter that turns standard MCP servers into discoverable endpoints on the AGENIUM network. Other agents can locate the bridged server via DNS and trigger its tools.
What transport options are supported?
The bridge accepts stdio child processes, existing sse endpoints, and streamable-http connections. It also provides automatic DNS registration and health checks via ping.
