mcp · getcoherence — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Brings the Coherence CRM agent into your development environment. You can manage records, write outreach copy, and set follow-ups directly in chat.
claude mcp add --env COHERENCE_API_TOKEN=<COHERENCE_API_TOKEN> --env COHERENCE_API_URL=<COHERENCE_API_URL> --transport stdio getcoherence-mcp -- npx -y @coherenceos/mcp-serverWhat mcp does
This server connects an MCP client to Coherence workspace tools. With chat_with_agent, instructions reach the Nash assistant to handle email drafts and calendar reminders. Dedicated methods let your model inspect CRM schema and run paginated record queries.
Content workflows use distinct endpoints that read and edit outreach pieces containing MDX syntax. Record deletions are safe: removed items go to the workspace trash rather than disappearing permanently.
A valid COHERENCE_API_TOKEN is mandatory. Approval checks for email dispatches or social posts are enforced on the server side regardless of key permissions. The API token cannot bypass them.
What it helps with
- query and update customer records in CRM
- draft sales follow-ups via the Nash assistant
- edit outreach copy with MDX markup
- schedule reminder tasks during conversation
Example prompts for the agent
- Ask my Coherence agent to prepare follow-up drafts for recent leads
- Show deals valued above $50k in the sales module
- Add a new contact for Jane Doe at Acme Corp and set a reminder for next week

Questions about mcp
How do I install mcp in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add mcp -e COHERENCE_API_TOKEN=<COHERENCE_API_TOKEN> -- npx -y @coherenceos/mcp-server. You need to replace the token placeholder with your sk_live_... key from workspace settings.
What does chat_with_agent handle?
It routes requests to Nash, who manages emails and landing pages. The agent executes actions within platform boundaries and returns the outcome.
Can API keys bypass approval rules in Coherence?
No. Actions like sending emails or posting updates require platform approvals that cannot be skipped, regardless of assigned token scopes.
