What ganjoor-mcp-server does

This server wires an agent into Ganjoor, a database of classical Persian poetry. It ships 44 tools: browsing poets and collections, reading a poem verse by verse, running prosody and rhyme analysis, tracing reply-poems between poets, and looking up recitations and commentary. Related-people and family-tree graphs are covered too.

Access is read-only and no API key is involved. The package runs through npx and needs Node.js 18.17 or newer. On Claude one line is enough: claude mcp add ganjoor-mcp-server -- npx -y ganjoor-mcp-server. Codex and Gemini CLI take their own commands; Cursor and GitHub Copilot expect a JSON config entry.

If your Node.js is older than 18.17, the server will not start — check the version first. The package installs locally and speaks stdio.
