Flight Search — Claude Code MCP server for flight lookup
Search Google Flights through SerpApi using IATA airport codes. Compare fares, travel times and stops for one-way or return trips.
claude mcp add mcp-flight-search -e SERP_API_KEY=<SERP_API_KEY> -- uvx mcp-flight-searchWhat Flight Search does
This server gives an AI agent access to Google Flights search through SerpApi. Its search_flights_tool takes origin and destination airport codes plus a departure date; add a return date for a round trip. Results include the airline, USD fare, duration, stops, departure and arrival times, and cabin class.
You need Python 3.10 or later or uv, along with a SerpApi key in SERP_API_KEY. Search will not run without the key. The server uses stdio by default and also supports Streamable HTTP with a port set at launch. A separate server_status tool checks whether the server is running and reports its version.
What it helps with
- find flights between airports using IATA codes
- compare fares and flight durations for a chosen date
- check how many stops a route has
- search for return flights using travel dates
Example prompts for the agent
- Find flights from
ATLtoLAXon2025-06-12and compare fares and durations. - Search for a trip from
LAXtoATL, leaving2025-06-12and returning2025-06-19. - Check whether the flight search server is running and report its version.
