enquire-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: Obsidian vault memory
An MCP server that turns an Obsidian vault into agent memory: search across Markdown and PDFs, with source paths and the age of every hit.

Point it at a vault and it builds an index on your own machine. Answers come back with the path of the note they came from, and with age_days and stale attached, so the model can separate fresh notes from old ones and go back to the source.
Retrieval fuses BM25, TF-IDF and multilingual embeddings, with an optional BGE reranker on top. PDFs travel the same route and keep their page numbers; OCR recovers scanned pages. Canvas notes get parsed into a typed graph, and dedicated tools run a subset of Dataview LIST/TABLE queries plus supported Obsidian Base filters.
Writes stay off unless you ask for them: seven write tools remain hidden until --enable-write is passed. During serve the process makes no outbound calls and collects no telemetry. The vault location goes in with --vault.
