Droidline — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Controls a physical Android device over Wi-Fi without ADB or root access. It lets agents tap on-screen elements and read interface text.
Open on GitHubWhat Droidline does
Droidline links your AI coding agent to an Android device running Android 9 or later. The tool executes interface taps and captures screenshots directly from the mobile display. No USB cable is needed. Communication stays encrypted and runs over local Wi-Fi or remote network relays.
The host machine runs droidline serve on localhost:8780. You install the companion APK on the phone, then pair devices with a QR scan or a six-digit code. If hardware is unavailable, the release includes droidline-fakephone for local practice.
Without the droidline binary on your system PATH, the MCP server fails immediately. The mobile client requires accessibility permissions alongside unrestricted battery usage. Android 13 devices also mandate granting access to restricted settings.
What it helps with
- test mobile applications on physical Android hardware
- automate multi-app login flows that handle verification codes
- let an AI agent view and interact with a phone screen
- evaluate UI automations using the bundled
droidline-fakephonesimulator
Example prompts for the agent
- Open
dev.droidline.demoon the connected phone and tap the button labeled "Log in". - Take a screenshot of the current mobile screen and save it to
shot.png. - Enter [email protected] into the input field with ID
emailand check the greeting text.
