Domain Lab — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Monitor domain expirations, DNS adjustments, SSL certificates, and email auth records directly through your AI assistant.
claude mcp add --transport http domain-lab https://mcp.domainlab.app/mcpWhat Domain Lab does
This hosted MCP server links your assistant to the Domain Lab platform over HTTP. It tracks renewal deadlines, nameserver changes, SSL validity, and email security records like SPF, DKIM, or DMARC across various registrars. No local packages are needed.
The tools split into three distinct categories. One reads account alerts, event timelines, and current registration status. Another handles domain management, such as triggering rescans or deleting tracked domains with explicit confirmation. A third group inspects public domains: verifying DNS propagation, detecting lookalike registrations, or estimating when an expiring address becomes available.
Authentication relies on OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, which means the server is unusable without an active Domain Lab account. You can restrict the connection to read-only tools if you want to block automated modifications.
What it helps with
- inspect DNS propagation progress across servers
- catch expiring domains across multiple registrar portfolios
- verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration records
- detect lookalike domain registrations targeting your brand
Example prompts for the agent
- Which domains expire this month?
- Check the SPF and DMARC setup for
example.com - Did any DNS records or SSL certificates change this week?
