What nslookup does

This MCP server connects an agent to nslookup.io tools for DNS records, SSL certificates, security scans, GEO scoring, domain intelligence, and uptime checks. The public tools work anonymously, with no account or API key.

You can use a hosted Streamable HTTP endpoint or run the server locally through npx over stdio. The local option requires Node.js 18+. The my_ tools expose monitoring-account data only through the hosted connection and require browser sign-in. Register one nslookup entry only, since using hosted and local entries together can route calls unpredictably.

What it helps with

  • inspect a domain’s DNS records
  • check an SSL certificate
  • scan a domain for security issues
  • score a site for GEO readiness
  • review nslookup.io monitoring data

Example prompts for the agent

  • Run a DNS check for github.com and explain the results.
  • Check the SSL certificate and security status of example.com.
  • Show my nslookup.io monitoring overview.
