DexPaprika — Claude Code MCP server: DEX and on-chain data
Gives your coding agent live DEX data: liquidity pools, token prices, trading volume, swaps. The free tier runs without an API key.
claude mcp add --transport http dexpaprika https://mcp.dexpaprika.com/streamable-httpWhat DexPaprika does
DexPaprika is an MCP server from coinpaprika that wires its market-data API into an AI assistant. The self-host build exposes 20 read-only tools. You get search for tokens, pools and DEXes by name, ticker or address, getNetworks for the supported chains, getNetworkPools for top pools, and getCapabilities — the README suggests starting there.
It is a stdio server: it talks over stdin and stdout and opens no port. Start it with npx dexpaprika-mcp@latest, or install globally with npm install -g dexpaprika-mcp. A hosted option skips local setup entirely — point the client at https://mcp.dexpaprika.com/streamable-http; SSE and JSON-RPC endpoints exist too.
An API key is optional. A free one raises the monthly allowance and unlocks streaming for any token, though the per-minute request cap stays the same. Paste the key as the whole Authorization value with nothing in front of it. A key the API cannot read still returns a normal 200 with data, so a typo looks like a success — call getKeyStatus afterwards to see which plan the API actually recognises. Dev and Pro customers also set DEXPAPRIKA_API_BASE_URL to https://api-pro.dexpaprika.com; the host does not switch on its own, and a free key sent there gets a 403.
What it helps with
- check token prices and liquidity across several chains
- list liquidity pools on a given DEX
- compare volume and fees between exchanges
- pull historical OHLCV candles for analysis
- verify that an API key is actually reaching the server
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the liquidity pools for USDC on Ethereum and show the largest by TVL.
- Compare daily trading volume across two DEXes on the Base network.
- Run
getKeyStatusand tell me which plan the API sees.

Questions about DexPaprika
How do I install DexPaprika in Claude Code?
With one command: claude mcp add --transport http dexpaprika https://mcp.dexpaprika.com/streamable-http. It hooks up the hosted server, so nothing runs locally.
What does DexPaprika do?
It feeds DEX and on-chain data to your assistant: pools, token prices, swaps and trading volume. The self-host build ships 20 read tools.
Do I need an API key?
No — the free tier works without one. A key raises the monthly allowance and enables streaming for any token, but the per-minute request limit stays the same.
