cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr — Claude Code MCP server
Hooks your coding assistant up to Brazilian public registries: company records by CNPJ, addresses by CEP, court cases, federal contracts, central bank rates. Handy when a vendor check has to happen inside the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr https://server.smithery.ai/@cristianoaredes/mcp-dadosbr/mcpWhat cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr does
The server exposes 23 tools grouped into six areas: government transparency, legal and compliance, companies and people, finance, health, strategic research. Ask for a CNPJ and you get the registration record; ask for a CEP and you get the address. There is also CPF checksum validation, .br domain WHOIS and consumer complaints from Consumidor.gov.br. The company_deep_profile tool pulls one profile together from six sources.
Plenty of tools answer with no key at all, IBGE, PNCP, OAB, BNMP, FIPE, CNES and the central bank rates among them. For the rest you pass TAVILY_API_KEY, TRANSPARENCIA_API_KEY and DATAJUD_API_KEY in the client config; leave out TRANSPARENCIA_API_KEY and federal contract lookups plus the sanctioned-companies list stay empty. Running it locally through npx @aredes.me/mcp-dadosbr requires Node.js 18+.
It ships as a TypeScript MCP server with stdio as the default transport; http is available and takes its port from MCP_HTTP_PORT. Client config lives in different places per editor: .cursor/mcp.json inside the project for Cursor, ~/.windsurf/config.json for Windsurf, the context_servers field in Zed settings. In Claude a single command points the assistant at the hosted Smithery endpoint, so no local Node runtime is involved.
What it helps with
- check a Brazilian supplier by CNPJ before signing
- look up a full address from a CEP
- see which court cases a company is involved in
- find out if a firm sits on the CEIS/CNEP sanctions list
- pull current SELIC, IPCA and dollar rates
Example prompts for the agent
- Run a full background check on CNPJ 00.000.000/0001-91: registry data, government contracts and court cases
- Resolve CEP 01310-100 to a street address with
cep_lookup - What are the current SELIC and IPCA rates from the central bank?

Questions about cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr
How do I install cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr https://server.smithery.ai/@cristianoaredes/mcp-dadosbr/mcp. That registers the hosted server, nothing gets installed locally.
What does cristianoaredes-mcp-dadosbr do?
It connects the assistant to Brazilian public registries: company records, postal codes, court dockets, federal contracts, financial indicators, health facilities. You query them in plain chat turns instead of opening each portal.
Does it need API keys?
Only some tools do. IBGE, PNCP, OAB, FIPE and the central bank rates work keyless. Transparency data, court cases and web search need TRANSPARENCIA_API_KEY, DATAJUD_API_KEY and TAVILY_API_KEY.
