convalytics — Claude Code MCP server: Convex app analytics
Lets an AI agent read web analytics and product events from Convex apps. Handy when you want the numbers without leaving the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http convalytics https://api.convalytics.dev/mcpWhat convalytics does
Convalytics handles web analytics and product event tracking for apps built on Convex. Page views, sessions, bounce rate, referrers and device or browser breakdowns arrive through a small script tag. Signups, payments and feature usage can be sent straight from Convex mutations and actions, and ad blockers cannot stop server-side events.
The MCP server exposes that data read-only, and clients reach it at https://api.convalytics.dev/mcp. It speaks HTTP transport, so there is no local process to keep alive. Setup also drops in a skill file for AI agents, which means Cursor and Claude pick up the workflow without extra wiring.
A project provisions itself on the first event, so you can start tracking without an account. Running npx convalytics init patches convex/convex.config.ts, writes convex/analytics.ts with the write key inlined and inserts the script tag into index.html. Those are edits to your repo — read the diff before you commit.
What it helps with
- check Convex app metrics from inside an agent chat
- track signups and payments from server-side mutations
- break down sessions by referrer and device
- wire up analytics without hand-editing Convex config
- give an AI agent read access to product event data
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me page views for the last week using convalytics
- How many signups came in this month? Pull it from convalytics
- Which referrers drive the most sessions?

Questions about convalytics
How do I install convalytics in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http convalytics https://api.convalytics.dev/mcp. The server connects over HTTP, so nothing runs locally.
What does convalytics do?
It collects web analytics and product events for Convex apps and serves them to an agent over MCP as read-only data. Events come from the browser script and from server-side mutations.
Do I need an account to start?
No. The project provisions itself on the first event.
