What Context Book does

Context Book organizes saved information into books and pages. An agent can create or edit a book, fetch its pages, add or replace a page, and search across books by meaning. Updated page content is embedded again, so searches can use the revised material.

The project has a REST API and an MCP server, backed by PostgreSQL. Its eight MCP tools require a valid Bearer token and operate on the authenticated user’s data. Running the project yourself requires Go 1.26+, Node.js 22+, PostgreSQL 16+ with pgvector and pg_trgm, plus a Voyage AI API key. Without a Bearer token, the agent cannot call the tools.

What it helps with

  • store project context in books and pages
  • search saved notes by meaning
  • retrieve every page from a selected book
  • revise book details or replace page content

Example prompts for the agent

  • Save the project architecture in a book and add a page about the API.
  • Search the books for notes on how authorization works.
  • Show me the pages in the book about the database.
