clawops — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Deploy and operate self-hosted OpenClaw on AWS, GCP, Azure, or a local VM. Use it from a terminal or through an AI editor with MCP support.
claude mcp add clawops -- npx -y @clawops/cliWhat clawops does
clawops combines a command-line interface with an MCP server for OpenClaw. It can create or remove infrastructure on AWS, GCP, Azure, and local VMs, then expose routine controls for status checks, logs, SSH access, configuration, backups, and upgrades. Cloud provisioning uses the Pulumi Automation API; the required CLI is placed in ~/.clawops/.pulumi-cli on first use.
The clawops setup wizard walks through the target host, LLM provider, API key, optional chat integrations, and editor connection. AI agents receive typed MCP tools for these operations. Cloud changes follow a plan, review, and apply flow, while --json makes command output suitable for scripts.
You need Node.js ≥ 22, an SSH key, and either an SSH-accessible Linux/macOS host or configured cloud CLI credentials. Those are required for the deployment path. clawops targets single-node VMs: it does not provide Kubernetes, clustering, automatic TLS or domain setup, or cloud credential storage.
What it helps with
- deploy OpenClaw to AWS, GCP, Azure, or a local VM
- inspect an instance status and retrieve its logs
- run SSH operations through an AI agent
- review and apply a cloud deployment plan
- connect an AI editor to the clawops MCP server
Example prompts for the agent
- Deploy OpenClaw to AWS and show me the plan before applying it.
- Check the instance status and fetch its latest logs.
- Run the environment check, then connect clawops to Claude Code.
