byterovermemory-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: setup guide
Hosted team memory MCP server for coding agents. It stores project context, detects conflicting records, and exports verifiable usage receipts.
claude mcp add --transport http byterovermemory-mcp https://byterovermemory.clauxel.com/mcpWhat byterovermemory-mcp does
The server operates as a remote HTTP endpoint designed to maintain long-term memory across developer teams. While built around the OpenAI Codex memory model, it connects to any agent that supports Streamable HTTP servers.
The service exposes four tools via JSON-RPC: memory_recall for retrieving stored facts, memory_write for saving new information, memory_conflict_check for spotting discrepancies, and memory_receipt_export for audit data. Every request needs an Authorization: Bearer <token> header.
Access requires an active paid subscription plan. Because unauthenticated requests immediately fail with a JSON error, you must obtain a bearer token from the provider site before adding the endpoint to your client.
What it helps with
- retrieve architecture decisions across agent coding sessions
- detect factual contradictions before updating shared memory
- export verifiable logs and receipts for audit compliance
- persist team-wide context without local file synchronization
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
memory_recallto fetch previous backend conventions for this repository. - Store our latest database migration strategy with
memory_writeand check for conflicts. - Generate a proof of recent memory lookups using
memory_receipt_export.
