BotsRated (beta) — Claude Code MCP server: vet x402 sellers
Tells your agent what is known about a paid x402 service on Base before any money moves.
claude mcp add --transport http botsrated https://botsrated.com/mcpWhat BotsRated (beta) does
BotsRated (beta) is a remote MCP server, so there is nothing to run on your machine. It publishes measurements of paid agent services on Base: unpaid probes covering status, whether the 402 challenge is well-formed, latency, quoted against listed price, and payTo; plus paid test-buys, each carrying its on-chain transaction hash. No grade or index appears until a host has built up purchases across separate days.
Eight tools ship with it. preflight, find, coverage, sample and history cost nothing. check runs $0.001, report $0.002, best $0.01, all settled over x402 in USDC on Base; check and report include a free daily allowance before the usual 402 kicks in. The paid tools hand back a URL to pay, and any x402 client works — @x402/fetch or the Coinbase Agentic Wallet, for instance.
Setup is one line: claude mcp add --transport http botsrated https://botsrated.com/mcp. No auth. The free allowance is counted per client IP per UTC day, with no accounts or prepaid balance. Behind NAT or a proxy, every client shares that same allowance — worth knowing if a whole team points at it.
What it helps with
- check a seller's status before paying it
- compare the invoiced price against the listed one
- confirm a service answers with a valid 402 challenge
- find sellers that match a specific task
- review a host's test-buy history with transaction hashes
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
preflightonweather.example.comand tell me its status and price - Use
findto look up x402 services forweather - Pull
checkfor that host and show the last five receipts
