What backengine-mcp does

The server connects an LLM client to the BackEngine platform via remote streamable HTTP at https://backengine-prod.backengine.ai/mcp. It organizes unstructured conversations into categorized signals, source records, and rolling twelve-week summaries per customer account.

The tool inventory adapts to active workspace integrations such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Zendesk, or Slack. Standard tools like find_similar_signals run semantic queries across conversational signals, while get_source reads underlying notes or transcripts.

Without a valid BackEngine account, session authentication will fail on connect. Environments lacking native remote MCP transport must bridge the connection using mcp-remote.

What it helps with

  • retrieve customer conversation history across Slack threads and email
  • review a rolling twelve-week customer overview before a meeting
  • run semantic searches across customer support tickets and transcripts
  • lookup team contacts by job title or project name

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check get_project_overview for Acme to see account activity over the past 12 weeks.
  • Run find_similar_signals to locate pricing feedback across recent calls.
  • Find the email address of the lead engineer on project Orion using find_contacts.
