Atlassian Rovo MCP Server — Claude Code MCP server: install
Connects Claude Code to Jira, Confluence, Loom, and other Atlassian services. Use it to search, create, and update work data from an AI client.
claude mcp add --transport http atlassian-mcp-server https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcpWhat Atlassian Rovo MCP Server does
Atlassian Rovo MCP Server acts as a cloud bridge between compatible AI tools and Atlassian Cloud. It can search and summarize Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, Projects, Goals, and other Atlassian data. It also lets the client review Loom recordings and create or update work items and pages.
The server uses OAuth 2.1 or API tokens, and actions follow the user’s existing Atlassian permissions. Supported clients include Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed. Setup commands are provided for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini CLI.
Claude Code receives two MCP entries that point to the same server URL, so check which connection name your workflow uses after setup. Access will not work until the Atlassian account is authorized with OAuth 2.1 or an API token.
What it helps with
- search Atlassian work data from an AI client
- summarize Jira and Confluence content
- review meeting recordings stored in Loom
- create and update Jira work items
- retrieve data from Bitbucket and Jira Service Management
Example prompts for the agent
- Search Jira for tasks in the current project and group them by status.
- Compare a Confluence page with its Jira tasks and list the differences.
- Create a Jira work item from this discussion and add the related Confluence page.
