Appendix — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Appendix searches medical literature and treatment guidance, then sends clinical encounters to a physician for review. A prescription may be provided if needed.

Appendix gives an agent tools to search medical references, submit a clinical letter for physician review, and view available conditions and medications. search_knowledge_base looks up literature and treatment guidance. submit_encounter sends an encounter for review, while list_conditions returns available conditions and medications.
The server uses Streamable HTTP transport. In Claude Code, connect it with claude mcp add --transport http appendix https://mcp.appendix.com/mcp. A physician reviews submitted encounters; the agent does not approve them or issue prescriptions itself.
