aispace — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Shares agent-generated files via expiring links with download caps and optional local encryption.
claude mcp add --env AISPACE_KEY=<AISPACE_KEY> --env AISPACE_URL=<AISPACE_URL> --env AISPACE_ALLOWED_ROOTS=<AISPACE_ALLOWED_ROOTS> --transport stdio aispace -- npx -y @aispace-sh/cliWhat aispace does
The aispace MCP server moves generated files into temporary storage. It handles artifacts that are too big or structured for chat windows, such as exports or archives.
The client runs locally via stdio and registers ten tools for file management. Supported operations include setting link expiration times, capping download counts, and revoking access. When needed, files can be encrypted on your machine with age keys before upload.
Without an AISPACE_KEY, the server fails to connect. Generating public expiring links requires a Pro account.
What it helps with
- share large artifacts and exports outside the chat context window
- generate temporary download links with expiration and download caps
- revoke access and delete stored files on demand
- encrypt sensitive files locally using age keys before upload
Example prompts for the agent
- Upload the generated report.pdf to aispace and create a link valid for 1 hour
- Share the build archive via aispace with a limit of one download
- Delete the uploaded file from aispace using its ID
