AgentsKit Registry — Claude Code MCP server: find agents
An MCP server that searches the AgentsKit catalog of AI agents and hands back install instructions inside your editor.
claude mcp add --transport http agentskit-registry https://registry.agentskit.io/api/mcpWhat AgentsKit Registry does
AgentsKit Registry plugs into Claude and other agent clients over MCP. Ask for an agent and the server looks it up in the catalog, then returns the command that copies its source into your project. The catalog holds 346 validated agents spread across 23 categories, covering coding, security, legal, clinical, marketing, operations, support and research work.
What lands in your repo is plain TypeScript. There is no registry runtime to adopt and nothing locking you in — npx agentskit add <id> brings over typed source, focused tests and a usage guide you can edit. Adapters, tools, memory, model and policy are swapped through AgentsKit contracts, and the copied factory stays ordinary application code.
Exact lookups — agent IDs, titles, install commands, categories — resolve from a signed local artifact. Semantic questions such as which agent suits an incident workflow escalate to the AgentsKit Chat backend, and only after a validated local miss. The registry is in beta, so treat every template as code to review against your own provider, tools and data policy before shipping it.
What it helps with
- find a ready agent for a task instead of writing one from scratch
- copy an agent's source into your repo and keep ownership of it
- get the install command for an agent without leaving the chat
- browse agents by category or capability
- inspect an agent before pulling it into a codebase
Example prompts for the agent
- Find an AgentsKit agent for incident triage and show me the install command

Questions about AgentsKit Registry
How do I install AgentsKit Registry in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http agentskit-registry https://registry.agentskit.io/api/mcp.
What does AgentsKit Registry do?
It searches the AgentsKit catalog and returns installation instructions. The agent's source is copied into your project as TypeScript you can read and change.
Does the server need an API key?
Not for catalog search or install commands. A key comes into play later, when you run a copied agent through a provider adapter such as OPENAI_API_KEY.
