What agent-mail does

This integration exposes the MailKite API as callable tools. Your assistant can dispatch emails, inspect domain verification records, and browse technical references. The assistant manages message routing directly.

Two deployment options are supported. The hosted version connects over HTTP with browser-based OAuth authentication. If you run the package locally using npx -y @mailkite/mcp, an active MAILKITE_API_KEY environment variable is mandatory. Without a verified sending domain in your account, outbound message delivery will fail.

What it helps with

  • send outbound messages through authenticated domains
  • assign a dedicated email inbox to an agent
  • route inbound webhook emails to an automated inbox handler
  • verify and inspect domain status via assistant prompts

Example prompts for the agent

  • Send an onboarding email to [email protected] from our verified domain
  • Check the DNS verification status for domain example.org
  • Set up incoming email routing to the inbox agent
