apple-mail — Claude Code skill for Apple Mail on macOS
This skill gives your agent a way into Apple Mail on macOS: read, search, send and tidy up messages. Handy when your mail lives in the desktop app.
npx skills add rbouschery/marketplace --skill apple-mail -a claude-codeWhat apple-mail does
Under the hood it is a set of bash scripts that drive Apple Mail through AppleScript. They sit in ../../scripts/ relative to the skill file and run from the plugin root. The scripts split into account and mailbox handling, reading, composing, and message management.
list-accounts.sh and list-mailboxes.sh cover accounts and folders, get-unread-count.sh counts unread mail. Reading goes through get-emails.sh, get-email-by-id.sh and search-emails.sh. Sending uses send-email.sh; create-draft.sh and create-reply-draft.sh build drafts, and send-draft.sh fires off the front-most one. Archive, delete and read-state changes live in archive-email.sh, delete-email.sh, mark-read.sh and mark-unread.sh.
Output is delimited: <<>> between fields in a record, ||| between records, and errors start with ERROR:. Pass empty optional arguments as "" and comma-separate multiple recipients. This only works on macOS with Apple Mail configured and at least one account. The first run triggers macOS automation permission prompts — decline them and the scripts fail, so check your privacy settings before you rely on it.
