What gws-workflow does

Arguments come in as [resource] [method] [flags] and go straight to gws workflow. The command bundles helper scenarios: a standup summary built from today's meetings and open tasks, prep for your next meeting with agenda and attendees, turning a Gmail message into a Google Tasks entry, a weekly digest, and announcing a Drive file in a Chat space.

You need the Google Workspace CLI installed first. Run gws auth status to confirm authentication, and gws workflow --help to see the available commands. Skip that check and the command fails on the first call.

The flow is deliberate: verify the gws version, inspect the target method with gws schema, then build the call with --params for query and path values and --json for the request body. Pagination goes through --max-results or --page-token. Tool access is limited to Bash, Read, Write and Edit.

What it helps with

  • build a standup summary from meetings and open tasks
  • prepare an agenda and attendee list for the next meeting
  • turn a Gmail message into a Google Tasks entry
  • get a weekly digest of meetings and unread mail
  • announce a Drive file in a Chat space

Example prompts for the agent

  • Give me today's standup report
  • Prep me for my next meeting
  • Turn this Gmail message into a task
