Fortuna Entertainment Group has closed its acquisition of a 70% stake in Lithuanian bookmaker TOPsport. The deal, announced in March 2026, extends the Czech operator's footprint in the Baltics.
TOPsport was founded in 2002 and is based in Kaunas. It controls more than half of Lithuania's online betting market, runs 54 retail locations and employs over 200 people. The parties said EBITDA topped €65 million in 2025 at a margin above 50%, with average annual growth near 30% since 2020. Brand awareness stands at 97%, driven largely by the company's sponsorship of basketball club Žalgiris.
Fortuna CEO Dieter John called the acquisition a decisive step for long-term growth in high-potential markets when the deal was announced. TOPsport co-founder Gintaras Staniulis pointed to the benefits of integration: global scale, technology and responsible-gaming standards. Fortuna holds G4 certification.
Market and regulation
Lithuania's gambling sector grew 16.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. Authorities plan to introduce mandatory player cards that will track deposits and winnings across operators, both online and offline. The measure takes effect 1 January 2029.
For Lithuania, this ranks among the largest foreign investments in gambling in recent years.
